Braid: There is A Light That Never Goes Out (originally by The Smiths)
There is no secret the influence that The Smiths had on countless numbers of sullen boys and girls in America. The tormented teens found solace and understanding in the often brash emotional songs about heartbreak that came sweeping over the pond in the 1980’s. While not directly a part of the scene, there is no question that they help mold the minds that would then move forward and develop the oft maligned rock sub genre of emo music. From lines in Brand New songs, to countless covers by heavyweights such as Death Cab for Cutie and Radiohead, their impact was wide reaching. It is no surprise then that emo originators Braid would pay tribute in the fuzz heavy screaming way only they could.
