All My Friends: Snakehips ft. Tinashe & Chance The Rapper / LCD Soundsystem
Two genre take on the coming age struggles of what happens with friendships when growing up. When you hit a certain age and life starts to speed up paths diverge (shout out to Robert Frost), causing friendships to shift, change, or sometimes fade away. While the Snakehips jam is more along the lines of the way friendships can start to get stale and fade away (especially among those weekend warriors), while the LCD take is more of a nostalgic take on what happens when you grow up and take stock of the way your life has changed. Musically both tracks are deeply infectious with the resolution of the off beat piano intro of LCD into a steady beat making for a perfect running beat (take it from me). The Snakehips take is a laid back hip hop beat that sucks you in with dueling stanzas and a banging group chorus. Both songs are great from top to bottom and should be checked out!
